REGIONAL ASSEMBLY
EMEL has three seats on East Midlands Regional Assembly (EMRA). We work within the Economic, Social, Environmental Partners (ESEP) Group. Our current representatives are:
- Frank Lucas (RSPB), who is also on EMRA's Scrutiny Board;
- Matt Doran (National Trust);
- Bettina Lange (CPRE), who is also on the Housing, Planning and Transport Joint Board;
- (Nick Sandford (Woodland Trust) is our named substitute).
EMRA's Environment Advisory Group includes a number of EMEL members.
EMEL is also represented on a number of other officer groups:
• Spatial Planning Regional Officers Group (SPROG) - Charlotte Gault (TWTs) & Lisa Hopkinson (CPRE)
• Energy and Climate Change Groups - Callie Lister (FoE)
EMRA has three key roles:
• Regional planning body,
• Scrutiny of East Midlands Development Agency (emda)
• Developing regional strategies
